The Magdalene Line Community Forum is a spiritually minded, Gnostically oriented online community that focuses on new and emerging theories surrounding the life and impact of Mary Magdalene from the earliest days of Christianity to the present. It explores her legend as detailed in Kathleen McGowan’s trilogy of books, beginning with the first installment, The Expected One.   Follow this link to Kathleen’s Website.

This year’s gathering featured the building of the labyrinth and a labyrinth walk.  Participants of the gathering as well as visitors to this blog are invited to leave comments below.

Once or twice a year the county brings in Hay to line the outer edges of the Watsessing Dog Park.  This year they brought the hay but haven’t gotten around removing the old hay.  So in the meantime some of the owners have re-arranged the hay in the center of the park.            

Today we installed a labyrinth at Being in Balance Inc, Nutley NJ

Today I visited my friend Rev. Teresa.  We talked about a labyrinth for her backyard. Well, here it is:

I have been busy for the last few days and did not have time to come out in the park.   I went yesterday, May 02 – the labyrinth was still there, but the lines needed to be freshly scored again.

The best time to rescore it is when the sand is a bit wet  like after a rain.  

Today the sand was hard – the labyrinth seemed like cast in concrete.

While walking I came up with this description of the labyrinth experience:

“The Labyrinth is a sacred symbol that can be walked in quiet meditation and mindfulness.   It can be a tool to promote peace globally and personally.

It has been called an interdimesional bridge by some, an interactive crop circle by others, a place of peace, home, and personal pilgrimage.

As a symbol it is an expression of perfect balance and harmony.   As one walks it, it acts as a mirror reflecting the motions within the soul and provides a tune-up for the spirit.” 

I have been out for a few days on business other than the labyrinth.

The Pompton Plains Chartres Cathedral Labyrint event was quite good.  Visitors stated to arrive at 5:45 already.

My take on the music: ”French Sacred  Music of the 14th Century” was this:

Some soundtracks were quite invocative.  Other were more early renaissnance style musical ”fidlings”.   With that said I realize that I should have done some consolidating of the soundtracks to maintain the ”best.”

When I got to the Maolis Labyrinth on Thursday, due to weather, baseball teams and ploughings of the areas, only a very fainth imprint of the labyrinth symbol was left.

I redrew the labyrinth.  I also realized that due to the sun and warm weather the sand was kind of “baked” and it was not easy to even put a sizable stratch in the surface.   I did the best I could and also attempted to draw a deriviative to the basic 5 curcuit labyrinth design.

It attempts to combine the elements of the traditional  ”one path only”design with the “open heart design” and the ” ceremonial ( 2nd center design) into one design that facilitates all of those.

Well then the rain came – again – and washed all that away.   When I went out today, ( 4/27) due to the heavy rain the labyrinth gone. 

Yet the sand was nice and soft.  I redrew a slightly smaller version of it. 

 Picture below is of the – due to the rain – recurring “Watsessing Lake” – by the way there used to be an actual Watsessing Lake way back. 

Also is is becoming obvious that spring is coming to Watsessing.
